SozoLife is a prophetic prayer ministry that restores individuals to freedom in their relationship with God, and to a more fruitful and fulfilling walk. It is a method I have been practicing and refining for several years and one I love to teach others about. My hope is to train others in SozoLife Counseling so that it can grow and influence people past what I could do as one person. I believe in this counseling method and am excited about how truly effective it is in the lives of those I have worked with. The incredible stories of how these sessions have made a life changing impact encourage my heart and motivate my spirit to continue practicing SozoLife Counseling.
It was a fall afternoon when a lady came in for her first Sozo session. One of her siblings told her about me and something called “Sozo” (the process of the Holy Spirit to restore the soul by prophetic prayer) and she agreed with her sister to schedule a session. However, in her mind she expected another failed counseling experience and further disappointment. It seemed like a long shot but she rationalized, “What do I have to lose, nothing else has worked.” She made it to that first meeting
She had spent 16 to 18 hours a day for the last 15 years of her life in a bed overwhelmed in hopeless depression. Although she had reached out and received treatment from medical professionals, her attempts were unsuccessful. She had also received pastoral counseling, as well as loving help from her husband with only very short-term success. Her mind continued to be constrained by childhood memories an abusive father who emotionally, verbally and sexually abused her from an early age – thoughts of suicide came to her mind on a daily basis.
The only time she could leave the confines of her bedroom was to attend church on Sunday and then sporadically to tend to critical family matters. She had noticed that the times when she went to church the darkness would dissipate in the atmosphere of praise and worship. In such moments she would experience hope and the feeling of light amidst the darkness. For years depression held down and she felt uninterested in doing anything but blocking out those horrible memories that kept attacking her mind. When she arrived at her first SozoLife counseling session she was exasperated – helpless and completely hopeless.
The old saying that a child is born with a clean slate to be written upon is simply not true. When you came into the world, you were given a genetic memory of the character, nature, and the attributes of God. At conception you are stamped with a human software download that was first in Adam and is nature of humanity. The curse in the garden of Eden has affected all humans since. One choice of disobedience to God’s word in the Garden of Eden made us imperfect and unable to be in God’s presence. This paradigm frames all perspectives and belief systems in the soul of every human born into the world.
The Scripture says, “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
In this passage there are three main revelations. First, it reveals that God created Adam and gave him a choice that would affect all mankind. Secondly, Adam’s choice in the Garden of Eden is still in effect today because we continue to die. Thirdly, Adam’s sin nature that was put on you from the beginning of your life has a solution in Christ.
Through Christ you can be made whole and have freedom, victory, and peace.
I have physically seen the Holy Spirit transform hearts in the moment their deepest and darkest secrets were revealed. Those single moments of revelation bring resolutions to years of wounding and trauma.
Although the lady mentioned early came to her SozoLife Counseling session with skepticism, she still experienced a breakthrough as the power of the Holy Spirit touched her in a personal revelation. She felt deliverance and in her soul she said she could feel healing. She experienced God like never before and her perspective was changed. In her spirit she gave her hurt to Jesus and he took it to the cross. She had the grace to speak forgiveness to her family and she was able to repent of her judgments. She broke with self-destructive vows she made throughout her life. She severed unrighteous and harmful soul-ties. As we worked together her belief system began to change and was renewed as she walked into a relationship with God’s Spirit of Truth.
As she was leaving that first Sozo session she told me she could literally feel the anointing of God that she had read about her whole life. That that breaks the heavy yoke. She stayed in his presence all the way home and as she awoke the next morning she finally had a strong desire to get out of bed. She says, “I don’t know what happened, but I just didn’t want to stay in bed, and it was like I could not even remember the depression that God delivered me from.” Throughout the course of several SozoLife sessions, God put her fractured heart back together and she was slowly made whole by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now she lives in God’s vision for her life and she told me she experiences God’s love and lives in agreement with his Truth. The “victim” spirit she had felt so heavily was transformed into strong overcomer – the “victor” spirit!
Her continued SozoLife sessions are now rebuilding her foundations as she walks further into wholeness. She is now a fighter that is healed. She has been set free and no longer takes her previous medications. She is fully functional in life and in ministry and has even begun to guide others toward their life destiny as she was guided. She has now also begun to successfully pursue other professional job endeavors.
I cannot express or better explain the value of SozoLife Counseling than this story has. The changes it made in her life are being made in many of my clients and my heart is overjoyed at the work God does in our sessions. My passion is seeing people free of the past and empowered for their futures – please consider starting your SozoLife today.
