May I Ask for Your Help?

Hey, may I ask for your help?

Bishop Naboth Ordination with the Team

I am blogging this request because we need your help.

Strengthen Naboth’s Mission trip December 2- 14, 2017.

First, I want you to know what we are doing for our Father’s kingdom! And, thank you for contributing to Save Naboth’s Mission in July. The mission to ordain Bishop Naboth and Alice Tumuhairwe and fulfill the requirements of the Ugandan government was an amazing success, hosting a delegation from President Yoweri Museveni’s office, and videoing the ordination ceremony for record purposes, thus bringing divine order to Bishop Naboth’s great mission.

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda

Second, I want you to understand the purpose of our Strengthen Naboth’s Mission. You and I have a divine command. Jesus said, “‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Third, I want you to have the opportunity for blessing by your prayers and gifts for Strengthen Naboth’s Mission trip December 2- 14, 2017.

The truth is, Melinda and I have loved you and sown in your life. And now, I need your help to fulfill the word of the Lord. Will you help us?

Support the Children

With the culmination and execution of Bishop Naboth’s Ordination in July and the Ordination of the 170 more Pastors in his ministry, I have a new burden and call to train leaders and feed the orphans. As this burden is an ongoing development for me and the I Am Network, Bishop Naboth has planned a Strengthen the Leadership Conference on December 4-9. This is a week-long training for the Leadership of some 290 churches from 8 African countries that relate to Bishop Naboth, and the structure to care for and educate over 700 orphans at the home base.

Now is the time for me and a team to go in the flesh, and you to go with us in your prayers and support. You reap the eternal rewards with us.

Ugandan officials want to see the development of Bishop Naboth’s ministry, orphanage, church network, and governmental participation. Our part is to impart the redemption, wisdom, and knowledge of God. On this trip, we will begin to make translated teaching video recordings that will be used to train the pastors and leaders in all of the regional city offices! So, I and a team are going December 2-14, 2017. Seventeen is the number of divine order and God is using us to establish His divine order in Uganda Missions – The Redeemed Church and Guma Na Yesu!

The Orphans Praise the Lord for You!

How can you help? (I am glad you asked..)

  1. I need your prayers before the throne. The multitude of souls that Naboth’s ministry brings in must be supported and expanded. He is an international harvester and he needs well-trained leaders! Please participate with me.
  2. Please consider going with us on a Leadership Training Mission.
  3. I need you to dig deep and give a donation. I know the Father has sent us, and you can receive the blessing of giving back. Please pray and give.

You may send your gift to:

Or you may donate with a card here:

As you know, we have had a long relationship with my “twin” brother Naboth. Since Naboth’s special request to me, and The I Am Network in 2007, we have supported Naboth and Alice, trained leadership, blessed and fed the orphans, ministered in conferences and crusades with literally hundreds of people coming to salvation, ordained over 370 pastors, with good fruit in the ministry… now the ministry has over 290 churches in eight African countries, over 700 orphans, and students of pastors in a government-sanctioned school for education.

This mission is good soil!

Pastor Steve

Your eternal Father believes in you! And I believe in you!

It was one of the darkest days of my life. I decided to walk away. The overwhelming shortness of breath, an intense from-the-neck-up headache, and the subsequent light headed swirl surrounded me like a cloud. And then I heard that still small voice, “I BELIEVE IN YOU!” You see, it is God that works in you, both to will and do His good pleasure. Are you ready to change the way you think so you can walk in BREAKTHROUGH?

The frustration that blew against me that day was a fierce wind. Some of my closest friends and leaders accused me, walked away, and only for personal prejudice. I could not put my finger in the hole on the dam, and more water flowed until a breach ensued. I experienced a confusion like never before. When people walk away, you find a new strength in the LORD. He says, “I believe in You.”

As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons make lemonade!

I want to show you how to make the best of your present circumstances!

I invite you!

Remember the greatness of our God!!!

Bishop Naboth Ordination with the Team

The Psalmist David said, The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. Psalm 111:2-6 KJV

I encourage you to stay connected with the works of the Lord… after all he is our Father.

The Ugandan Save the Mission was successful!

Thank you for your prayers and support! This is not the complete story…just the beginning. But words alone cannot fully communicate the honor I feel or the gratitude that overwhelms my heart for you. You reached out with your love, your faith, your prayers, and you gave generously to fulfill the Lord’s vision and commission.

In the end of July, after the miracles of overnight Visas, and rescheduled flights, and miraculous connections and six hour African road trip, we landed at the Lake View Hotel, Mbarara, at approximately 11:30 PM Friday. We rejoiced to fall into bed.

Celebration of Ordination

We awoke the following morning to fulfill the word of the Lord, and began the ceremonies around 10 AM on Saturday. It was Bishop Naboth’s Ordination; a magnificent and glorious celebration. After Bishop Naboth was ordained, Martha Seimway of the President of Uganda’s executive office delivered a passionate and powerful, God fearing and honoring message. She was going to deliver a political speech, but was overcome with the beauty of the Spirit. The Spirit gripped her as she confessed her faith, and compassionately called all Ugandans to remember where God brought them from. As she finished, she knelt on the platform and asked in tears for us to bless her, and her staff. As we prayed and anointed them, God opened another level of power and authority. The ceremony ended with bows and hugs. God is moving! This is the beginning of a relationship with the office of President Museveni.

During the meetings, three people received Jesus Christ as their personal savior, and the reports are still coming in to Bishop Naboth about miracles. Many signs and wonders, with accompanying words of blessing released Holy Spirit transformation. One woman whose arm was twisted in an accident stretched out her arm and was healed! Another man who endured great pain in his legs received complete restoration – this was Bishop Naboth’s brother Eric. And, another lady received complete deliverance from a witch doctor’s curse, and received salvation –  body soul and spirit wholeness!

Later, in The Redeemed Church, all-day-long ceremonies, we ordained twenty Pastors who needed to return to their churches, and would miss the Sunday Pastoral Ordination Service. Then on Sunday, the Lord moved powerfully. Alice’s sister, for the first time, received Jesus as her personal savior. Another gentleman received Jesus as his Savior, after the Lord healed him.

Unknown to us, a national television new channel received videos and published on the news the story of Naboth’s Ordination. And on Sunday evening, we were told and it was verified that Bishop Naboth’s story ran on the evening news, transmitted all over Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi, as well as other African nations.

Our Father knows how to glorify His sons and honor His servants. The scripture says, “…humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due time.” This Trip fulfilled the word of the Lord!

A special treat of a banana to all the orphans.

We are celebrating the Lord’s victory, and as King David before us, and with the same declaration we say  ” … that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. (Ruling in and through His sons and daughters) And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s… (1 Samuel 17:46-47 KJV)

Thank you for standing with us in your prayers, and with your generous investment in the Kingdom of God for a bright and glorious future for our brothers and sisters all over the world! Matthew 6:33

The I Am Network’s commission and adventure is to literally disciple the nations through long term, and short term mission endeavors, while facilitating a network – focused through the internet for relationship, restoration, and resources for practical discipleship. God is moving and we are moving with Him!

Tell Your Story

Tell Your Story

By Steve Scroggs

And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.[1]

The heavens and earth tell a story

The heavens and earth tell a story

Stories are powerful. They quickly engage people in non-threatening ways to open understanding, exam belief systems, and confront the prejudice that tops the human psyche. I experienced many heart and soul revisions because, through a story, I let my guard down. Tell your story.

It was late when the subway doors opened. A bewildered father with five loud adolescents took his seat next to the chrome stabilizer bar. With one hand on the pole, his head down and his shoulders slumped, he seemed detached from his boisterous children. He sat stunned as they disrupted the entire cabin. I tried to get his attention, a few times. I asked myself, how could a father be so thoughtless and insensitive? Continue Reading..

Meditation: the five phases

Meditation: The Five Phases

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them;

that thy profiting may appear to all.[1]

It was a bright day in Statesville, North Carolina. As I sat in the living room of my mentor and friend, I asked him a question. “How do I get the truth from my head to my heart?” He put his finger on his forehead and then on his heart, he said, “Keep thinking and speaking the truth over and over again until you know it is coming from your heart.” In other words, meditate. In my book, Learn the Language of the Spirit, I have a chapter about meditation: the five phases. Meditation walks a parallel path to relationship.

The ancient practice of Biblical meditation is not just a state of mental or emotional stillness, but a continual focus on the name, personality, word, and ways of God. When Moses interacted with God in face to face meditation, he descended Mt. Sainia with his face glowing like a brilliant sun. When God engaged Joshua, preparing him to lead Israel into the promise land, he gave this instruction,

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.[2]

Since relationship is the ultimate goal of God throughout the universe, the process for nurturing relationship unlocks a natural pathway for meditation. Do you remember the beginning of your most satisfying relationship? I think you will agree with these five observable phases that produce a mutually satisfying bond. The sequence may differ, but this pathway charts a course for meditation.

Phase One: Adoration

The first phase in relationship and meditation is Adoration; the romance of seeing life through a fresh set of eyes. This inspiration cycles with a new person, a new mystery, and a new set of stories that inspire. Partakers share a state of near-constant bliss, and invest time to know one another. The psalmist David said,

I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul follows hard after thee: thy right hand upholds me.[3]

Through the focus of Adoration on God, praise will fill your mouth, and a new glory will enter your life.[4] The Father made your soul to process through meditation.

Phase Two: Adaptationstairs up into heaven

The second phase of meditation moves across the Adaptation of your life to the one you love and pursue. In a personal relationship this is about control. Every time you meditate, you will see a facet of His personality that challenges your status quo, and calls you in. As the newness of inspiration wears thin, the reality of life settles in with the disciplines required for meaningful interchange. Adaptation merges God’s life into the human life through agreement. King David chose meditation and scripted his adaptation in the book of Psalms.

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. …I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.[5]

As you adapt to Him, you will discover that He created you to be like him. He is a dreamer and gave you the dreams you possess. He glorifies you so you will glorify him.[6]

Phase Three: Submission

Submission, the choice to handover your control to make decisions to the one you love, is the third phase of meditation. For the first time individual motives will be challenged. As the meditation deepens, God reveals his purposes, as well as your minor disagreements, the belief system arguments, and the self will motivations. This once tender loving, and effortless relationship evolves into a power struggle.

Meditation tunes your soul spirit experience to the frequency of heaven. Therefore, you will recognize that God is love and has your best interests at heart.[7] The psalmist cried out,

I know, O Lord, that your judgments are right, and that you in faithfulness have afflicted me. Let, I pray thee, your merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to your word unto your servant. …Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause; but I will meditate in your precepts.[8]

Through contemplation you learn to appeal to authority and develop the negotiation skills of bargaining, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

Phase Four: Ascension

In phase four, the heart ascends from the position of evaluation to a desire for connection. At this juncture, you recognize the link between what you learned in your family of origin, and how that imprint colored your interaction with God. As your perspective matures and you see your loved one with new eyes, a sympathetic re-awakening emerges. David experienced this,

I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember your wonders of old. I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings. Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? You are the God that does wonders: you have declared your strength among the people. You have with your arm redeemed your people… Selah.[9]

As you encounter the Word and Spirit in meditation, an invitation to the throne of grace appears. God becomes more than a truth to study, or a being to read about.

Let us therefore Come boldly unto the throne of grace…[10] You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.[11]

As you focus your attention and affection on His presence, you will experience the realm of His Spirit, [12] and walk as a child of light.[13]

Phase Five: CommunionLearn Language BookCoverImage

The fifth phase in meditation is face-to-face communion. Communion integrates the needs of self with the needs of another. You maintain an equilibrium between individuality and unity. You take responsibility for your own life and provide support for the one you love. Conflicts will arise from time to time, but as a result of the struggles from the previous stages you resolve them quickly. King David meditated on this reality.

I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.[14]

As you integrate your heart, soul, mind, and strength with the presence of God,[15] communion emerges with a passion that enraptures the soul. Earthly treasures become shadows in the love of his magnificent glory.

The brightness I sensed that day in my mentor’s living room was God’s excitement for His children coming to him in meditation. God’s favor was not affirming the shadow of the ritual, but the reality of the relationship. Meditation requires time, focus, and discipline. Those who walk in the Spirit and absorb his love will be his sons and daughters, and will share the secrets of eternal truth.[16]
