You Are a New Creation

Rev Steve Scroggs

Since God chose you to be His son or daughter, it is time for you to put away your denial and acknowledge your destiny! You are a new creation. You are special.

First of all, when you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you are born into the family of God. This means you are a son or daughter of the King. Eternal life flows through you.

Second, the kingdom of God is within you. You have all the resources within you to live strong, courageous, and confident! YOU ROCK!

Your only limiting factor is what you believe. Believe, you are a new creation.

I Am My Father’s Dream

OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN

Your eternal Father dreamed of you, before he created the heaven and earth. He chose you, before the foundations of the world. He gave you a purpose, before you were conceived. But, most people don’t KNOW their roots, they do not know their heritage, and they certainly do not understand their own power. Most earthlings are more connected with tangible earthly experience things than with the eternal power and glory of God. One such lady asked me, “Will you send me some Truth and confessions that will frame a new inner dialogue for my life dream?”

God Touches Man

God Touches Man

The Dream

Say this with me, “I am my Father’s dream.” Is this true?

Your earthly father and mother participated to get you here, but your Father in heaven is your original Father. Therefore, our Father God is a family man. Although many people hunt for themselves in their family tree, I did not find myself in my family tree. But, I did find a judge from England, a doctor in the Civil War, and a heritage that established the King’s edicts on the borderlands between Scotland and England.

The Christmas Wait

One day last week I experienced The Christmas Wait.

Three wise men and starI was steaming. It was rush-hour traffic at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. I set my frustration aside when I started the conversation. “Do you like sitting in traffic?” My wife alleged, “Not really, but I do like traffic when I am going Christmas shopping.” I almost suffered whiplash. “You like traffic…? …at Christmas?” I heard a chipper giggle. She continued, “Well, yes. It’s like… a part of Christmas. We’re all shopping… together.” I sighed with a giggle, but my brain seemed to turn around inside my skull. I had never considered that anyone would like to sit in traffic. But, then again, Melinda and I spend a lot of time talking in the car. However, I look for every opportunity to skirt traffic and shy away from malls. Although, I am at my best when surrounded with people.

This same feeling was coursing through Joseph and Mary on the day they entered Bethlehem. The traffic on the streets hummed with excitement. The Roman Empire called for a census to be taken, in person, in the city of your family’s heritage. For Joseph and Mary, this meant traveling in excess of one-hundred miles, during her pregnancy to Bethlehem, the village setting in the shadow of Jerusalem. They were all tired, even the donkey. The sinking feeling as Joseph went from Inn to Inn intensified. “Surely God will

A Baby Changed The World

A Baby Changed The World

give us a room for Mary to give birth. After all, it is His Son” Joseph thought. All of the Inns and stables were full. (Joseph had unsuccessfully preplanned his trip through Hotels.com.) However, he remembered the visitation from Gabriel three months ago and his message, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”[1] The angel’s word did not say how, nor did it include a five-star hotel. Nonetheless, this did not seem right. Jesus literally was the Son of the Creator-King of the Universe. Although Joseph had no way to preplan his trip, God’s plan was written before the foundations of the earth.

When Joseph and Mary entered Bethlehem, God was preparing to preach an eternal message.[2] The creator was entering His own creation. God was communicating to all present in the second century B.C. and throughout all time, that He was here. His plan was coming together. “And in the fulness of time…” Joseph was offered a stable that would shield them from the cold, give them a bed of hay, and include certain amenities; a trough for food (a manger), piles of hay, an abundance of animals, and access to water. Bethlehem was the epicenter of “the Word of God became flesh….”[3]

AngelShepherdsGod chooses humble places to birth His Son: A planet He created to birth His children. A village on the outskirts of the Capital city of Israel. A stable made for bedding animals, complete with hay and a feeding trough. And, a human heart created in perfection and fallen into disrepair. God is not disappointed with you. He is an eternally generous and forgiving personality. He pursues the lost and afflicted. He seeks the least. There is nothing you can do to make him reject you. When Jesus was born, a Star was born. And He still is born in humble places. Since God accepts you, go ahead and accept you. Since God forgives you, go ahead and forgive you. Since God gave his very best for you, therefore, give yourself the very best from God.

Think of the people who had front row seats to His arrival that night when the Shepherd’s responded to the Angel’s announcement. They came from all over to see the Christ child. This was no small event. God sends His angels to the least in Israel’s society. And as they come the word spreads throughout Bethlehem. The whole village, filled with people from all over the Roman empire, are drawn to the hustle and bustle of the crowd of shepherds overturning every rock to find the baby, “…wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

Although traffic lined the streets of Bethlehem, and the makeshift malls filled the town square and bordered the streets with shops and vendors, the hustle and bustle will either crowd out the coming of Jesus, or communicate his arrival. Everyone in Bethlehem did not see him. But everyone who wanted to see him was invited. He is the only God, the only Savior, the only lamb of God offered to take away the sins of the people.

During this Christmas season, rejoice as you celebrate the birthday of God’s eternal gift. The traffic is natural, and the idea to enjoy waiting in traffic shows us there is something important to see. Something of divine origin to contemplate. Just like God surrounded His Son’s birth with people, God will surround you with what is necessary to bring forth His Son. He will bring out the best!

During this season, God is appealing to you as you wait.

A Strategic Warfare Strategy

papaSkyA Strategic Warfare Strategy

Peering into Satan’s command center

I didn’t see it coming. These were my friends. They didn’t see it coming either. Many years ago a pastor’s son and one of the staff member’s daughters entered into a relationship as two adults over the age of twenty. The relationship was consensual, but the pastor’s son was blamed.

For the next few months the staff member began to sow discord and dissension in the hearts and minds of the people on his team. “You can’t talk to the pastor because he never listens…” “I question his integrity if he will not hold his son accountable…” And, “What does the Bible say about a man whose house is not in order?” are some of the phrases used. It was a number of months before the Senior Pastor was brought into the problem. When the staff member encountered the pastor, it was a surprise to the pastor when a no-excuses-command to publicly discipline his son in the church surfaced.

Prosperity

PROSPERITY

There was a knock at the door. Our residence, an upstairs apartment and home of the Pastor, his wife and family, just up from the church was well known. The day after the weekend services was usually a day off. And then another knock. My wife answered the door.

Melinda and a woman in needA beautiful lady, fixed up in the tradition of Barbie, began the conversation, “I have all the money I want. I have a good husband and all the things that money can buy. But I don’t have peace. I want what you have.” The 2000 red corvette convertible she drove was sitting in the parking lot. But she was standing alone at our front door.

“What do you mean?” My wife responded. Then she replied, “I would give all the money I have to get what you have.” My wife responded, “You can have what I have, all you have to do is give your life to God, and live your life for love.” She came in and talked for about an hour, and then, she did what most people do in the heat of the moment. She walked away. The cost of peace was a prosperous soul that comes through a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ. Your soul is the immortal treasure your Heavenly Father pursues.

Prosperity Flows from God

What is prosperity? On earth, the crosshairs focus on fortune, treasure, affluence, abundance, and success. However, to make the hometown of prosperity material abundance and the opulent lifestyles of the rich and famous, make it alien to ninety-five percent of the people who live here. Wouldn’t you agree, it’s hard to live a life of prosperity when it is defined from a worldly point of view? The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines prosperity as, “a: marked by success or economic well-being. b: enjoying vigorous and healthy growth: flourishing.” On the other hand, if prosperity is defined by your eternal Father and the river of life that flows from his throne into your immortal soul, then it is available to every one. In other words, when you believe God, prosperity lifts you like an elevator from the basement to the penthouse.

key-light-spiritThe key to prosperity in your world is inescapably bound to the wealth of your soul. Fortune in the soul has a currency and an exchange rate that is very different from bank account balances. You may have heard, “…life is a negotiation and we are all selling something.” The prosperity of God is a matter of negotiating life or death in your soul. In the first century, the Apostle of love wrote a letter to his children,

Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

When your soul believes God and walks in the light,[2] your life will manifest the illumination of God.[3] When your soul drinks from the river of life that flows from his throne, your body receives divine health and spiritual wisdom.[4] When your soul accepts perfect love, you rise fearlessly in confident faith.[5]

If rational education and material things could satisfy the desires and needs of the human soul, there would be no displeasure, distress, discouragement, disillusionment, disappointment, disapproval, disenchantment, dissatisfaction, disgruntlement, discontentment, and disassociation that usually attains depression, despondency, and despair with suicide waiting in the wings. A mountain of dis-words can bring up piles of memories, but God made a way for your soul to prosper.

Approximately five hundred years before Jesus was born that first Christmas day, his forefather wrote this song and taught Israel to sing it before Almighty God.

Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.[6]

The natural man does not want to admit the need for anyone, and in particular the need for God. But the truth remains; your soul was made in God’s image, in his likeness, and donned with his authority. All you have to do is make the choice to walk in His counsel, stand in his ways, delight in the law of the Lord, and meditate in his law day and night, and then whatever you do will prosper.[7]

Therefore, the prosperity of your soul harmonizes with the paradigm of your value. For example, if you remember being treasured by your earthly father, you will know the pleasure of your eternal father as he rejoices over you.[8] My wife Melinda was the apple of her father’s eye. She has never had a time in her life when she questioned, “Daddy, do you really love me?” Or from a secret place in her heart asked, “Does my daddy really love me?” So her value was set in her father’s unconditional love, complete adoration, and unreserved acceptance. She knew from the bottom of her heart that she was her father’s greatest treasure. As a result, her soul is gracious, optimistic, polite, and wealthy. When you meet her you will want what brightens her life.

Like Melinda, the glorious thing about God’s love will shine in you when you choose to believe that your eternal Father loves, accepts, and adores you. The assessment of your worth, significance, and inspiration determines how prosperous your soul will be. In other words, “What you believe about you, and your Father’s love for you, will manifest.”

The Beloved

Once upon a time, dusk invaded the sunset as a brisk fall evening fell across the Israeli desert. Only the coals of his campfire remained when he began to praise Yeshua on his harp. In the third watch of the night, the youngest of eight brothers awoke to the growl of a hungry bear in pursuit of a meal. David follows the bear into the woods, grabs him by the jaw, rescues the lamb, kills the bear with his bare hands, and returns to the flock.

Samson & the LionAs he watched his father’s flock he skillfully played his harp, trained himself to proficiently wield his stone and sling, and commanded the respect of a multitude of shepherds in the land. When the shepherds and their flocks gathered, you heard the reverberation, “Who is this that plays? He plays with passion, excellence, and inspiration. Let’s worship and celebrate.” They heard him play and sing for the king of the universe. But, what every other shepherd could not see was the truth that resounded in David’s heart, “I am my father’s joy and expression. I know I am my father’s beloved. My father Jesse named me David – Beloved.” Even from his youth he focused his attention and affection on the most valuable commodity in the land, the love and honor of his Father.

One day, when an evil spirit tormented king Saul, the ruddy boy’s reputation preceded him into the king’s and his advisors sent for him. When the sweet Psalmist of Israel played, the evil spirit left Saul and his sanity returned.

This anointed young man communed privately and performed publicly with skill. David lived at the beckon call of the Lord of Hosts; and knowing the love they shared, David rose in confidence when the almost eleven-foot-tall giant stood to intimidate the nation. He said, don’t worry, I will go and fight him. King Saul’s immediate response was you are but a youth, and he a warrior from his youth. David’s answer caught the King by surprise.

Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.” And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.[9]

Then in confidence and power, David, armed with only a shepherd’s staff and sling, ran to the brook and gathered five smooth stones. In the anointing of God, he darted over the stream and faced a giant twice his size and three times his weight. After Goliath finished his best crack at a victorious speech, David proclaimed from the richness of his soul.

You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.[10]

That day, a young Jewish shepherd showed the entire nation that the battle belongs to the Lord. Israel celebrated the defeat of the intimidator with only a sling and stone.

David was at home in his own skin. He prospered from within and overcame without. The power of God flowed through him. The beloved knew his source when he sang and wrote,

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.[11]

David knew his place in the Father’s heart, and as a shepherd, understood firsthand the shepherd’s pursuit. His soul was restored in an environment of love and trust. He knew how to follow the Great Shepherd as he was being groomed to rule as Israel’s next king. He is still the most celebrated and the most beloved King in Israel’s history.

Prosperity has a Currency

papaSkyProsperity travels through the soul in currencies of light and dark energy. If your soul leans into the light, your prosperity will grow positive and your body will receive life. If your soul leans into darkness, your fortune will grow negative and your body will manifest depression, criticism, and sickness. Regardless of how much money you have, your body will reflect the focus of your soul’s choices.

When your heart is full of life, attentive to the Spirit, and focused on creative spirit, your prosperity flourishes. Your Father in heaven has never changed his mind about you. He says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love, and I will never leave you! Again, I will never leave you nor forsake you! I love you…I love you…I love you! I am with you…. This is eternal truth… Even in your darkest hour, I am right here.”[12]

You are the Father’s Treasure

While the Son of God was on earth he established the value of your soul. However, you have to believe Him in order to receive the full consideration.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?[13]

Humans determine worth by what someone is willing to give for a person, place, or thing. Think about it. If I told you, I am a very popular writer, that my books are best sellers, through which I make upwards of $1,000,000 a year, and that every publisher wants to buy my first draft scripts, how would you feel about me and what would you think I was worth?

It would be completely natural for you to feel respect, honor, and value for me. But, all of the money on earth, all of the real estate in the world, all of the precious metals under the mountains, and all of the priceless treasures in all of the king’s palaces combined cannot compare to the value of your soul. But, the only way to bring God’s value into your heart is through the process of faith. You must believe God loves you and pursue an individual relationship with Him.

You are the Father’s Likeness

There is a way for the human soul to access the manifest glory of God, and convert darkness to light, death to life, sickness to health, rejection to acceptance, and the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son. Although, eternal life continues when you die, you can have this power manifesting in and through your body right now, by faith! Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.[14]

When the soul enters into heart covenants, mental decisions, and subconscious resolutions of truth; steps must be taken to legally resolve, officially sever, and legitimately break the covenants, and choices made to accept God’s truth as the foundation for your life. To walk out of the soul’s maze, you must first be set on the life-giving power and expanse of God’s timeless word. His life is endless, His Word is creative, and His truth is freedom. However, you were not born with this perspective.

This journey sparkles when you have a personal relationship with God. A young lady sparkled when through prayer and confession joy filled her heart and her hope was renewed. Jesus said it this way,

Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.[15]

God gave a way in scripture to process the human soul, and he is the One who saves, heals, delivers, and makes you whole. You will grow and prosper as your soul prospers. Enter into a life with Jesus Christ because it is God that works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

On earth you will make many choices. You will choose to believe the truth or a lie. You will submit to His divine purpose, or offend God’s standard of righteousness.[16] You will evaluate everything and everyone based on God’s Spirit of truth, or you will judge everything and everyone according to your own personal sense of justice. You will choose either to make a vow to God or you will ascend to god-like status by pledging I am the determiner of my own destiny, I am the Captain of my fate.[17] These are a few of the many choices you will make, but the prosperity of your soul depends on loving God and loving His truth.[18] You will prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

God whispers. The rustle in the trees is not the only wind that blows on earth. There are times when God whispers truth into the soul of a man or woman, and a song is born. He whispers to your heart. He says, “I love you, and I created this world so that you could experience me and know me.” The Father loves you, and wants you to enjoy the life He has given you. He has given you a way to be happy, in whatever circumstance you find yourself. The decision is yours, because you make up your own perspective by the focus of your thoughts and paradigms.

In 1988 Bobby McFerrin wrote a BIG little song that swept the world titled, “Don’t be worry be happy!” It won a Grammy Award for the song of the year. I loved the song then, and I like it even more now. The whole world listened, danced and moved with Bobby’s song, but I don’t think they understood it. God was whispering through a musician and most of us missed it.

Bobby Mcferrin

The Blessings of Musicians

Here’s a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don’t worry, be happy

In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry, you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy

Don’t worry, be happy (x4)
Oo, ooo…

Ain’t got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don’t worry, be happy

The land-lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don’t worry, be happy

Look at me, I’m happy

Don’t worry, be happy

Ain’t got no cash, ain’t got no style
Ain’t got no girl to make you smile
Don’t worry, be happy

‘Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don’t worry, be happy

Don’t worry, don’t worry, don’t do it, be happy
Let the smile on your face
Don’t bring everybody down like this

Don’t worry, people will soon pass
What ever it is

Don’t worry, be happy

I am not worried, I am happy

Most people are happy when everything is going good, because it seems easy to be happy when your life comes together. But the Father wants you to be happy and joyful in every circumstance, good or bad. How do you do that? Number 1, always praise your Father in heaven for everything that comes into your life. (2 Chronicles 20:1-30) Choose to say, what I experience I am experiencing with God and is my opportunity to trust Him and believe Him. Number 2, thank God for every circumstance. (Job 1) Choose to say, thank you God, I believe you know best, and you are allowing everything to come into my life for a purpose. Number 3, choose to let the event play out in faith believing that God will work all things together for good. (Romans 8:13-30) Choose to say, the story I will tell from this experience will be the most exciting and most encouraging part of my earth’s journey. God created this life for you and he knows how to make everything work together for your good.

Covenant Promise

Your mindset; the paradigm of life and the filter through which you choose to process life will determine whether you have a positive or negative state of mind and whether you will enjoy or hate the life God has given you. Have you ever met a person who always saw what could go wrong in every circumstance? You know him as the critic who can never see the silver lining, or the eternal purpose for the difficulty you will face, but only congratulate himself when the bad happens he predicted. There is another way.

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks:for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

When Job was faced with the worst circumstance in his life he made one declaration, “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all that Job went through the scripture says, “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” (Job 1:21-22)

When the Israelites were facing an enemy massively larger than they, they bowed their knee to the Lord and began to pray. Their imminent destruction was at hand. Tomorrow they would all die, if they believed the press. But King Jehoshaphat led his people in prayer. He didn’t call the defense minister, he didn’t call the generals, he didn’t call other nations to join him. He called God to join him. The scripture records it this way.

“And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, And said, ‘O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do:but our eyes are upon thee. And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.'”

The King’s eyes were turned to God, and in this circumstance he only had a few choices. He could have said, “we are all going to die, so eat drink and be merry.” He also could have said, “I told you this was going to happen… if you all kept on sinning and treating God badly.” But instead, he choose to focus his own heart and the heart of the people on the only one who could save them. And then, someone in the crowd who was tuned into God’s channel began to prophesy.

“Then upon Jahaziel…, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation; And he said, ‘Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground:and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord. And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

In the face of certain destruction the King and the people of Israel began to pray and seek the Lord for their help and protection. This strategy is the only strategy for you and me. The only way to engage God’s help and favor is to pray and trust him! Do not complain. Do not threaten. Do not challenge. Do not swell up in anger. Do not stand up for your rights. Give yourself completely into the hands of your loving and gracious heavenly Father. There is a time to fight, but the first step in God’s economy is surrender and trust.

When you choose believe God mountains will move when you speak to them. Look at the mindset of Israel as they go out face the enemy.

Harp and shofar

You are the Instrument of Praise

“And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, ‘Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.’ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endures for ever.”

This strategy will always be rewarded. It may not turn out like you think, but it will always be rewarded! Look what happens when the people began to sing and praise the Lord. You must answer a huge question! IS GOD REAL? While He is invisible, will he intervene in physical circumstances? Does He want to intervene for you?

“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them:and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.”

You must begin to see with His eyes! When a bad situation comes, you are getting ready to be blessed and prospered, if you will stand with the Lord! Praise in the midst of difficulties is a theme in the apostle Paul’s writings.

“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” Romans 12:15 KVJ

“And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.” 2 Corinthians 2:3 KJV

“Rejoice in the Lord alway:and again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 KJV

On day, on my way home from our church, Mountain Vintage Fellowship, the Lord whispered to me. “I give all the music you hear on the earth. Life is hard here. Without music man would not survive. And I give all kinds of music. Music will touch people in every stage and in whatever emotional state they find themselves. Music is an eternal medium that will always remind you of me. There is meditative music for those who seek serenity, angry music for those who are angry, happy music for those who are happy, depressed music for those depressed, praise music for those who praise, and worshipful music for those who worship me. When people are young and rebellious, I have a way to touch them. Through their music. And usually, as people grow older and learn how to resolve their conflicts their taste in music changes. Music is an eternal medium that falls from heaven into the soul. But, the words come from the heart and can bring darkness into the music. Be happy and enjoy what I have made for you”

You always have a choice. But you may say, “I can’t help but see the bad, because bad is always happening!”  When your heart and mind has been trained to see the bad, you will always see it first. But, that does not have to be your focus. Choose God and live in His promise and Power.

Remember what to do! Number 1, always praise your Father in heaven for everything that comes into your life. Number 2, thank God for every circumstance. Number 3, choose to let the event play out in faith believing that God will work all things together for good. The story you live and share will bless thousands. Life is short, live it! Don’t worry, be Happy! God created this life for you and he knows how to make everything work together for your good.

Believe His Prophets

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword… (Hebrews 4:12 a)

Have you ever received a word from someone who told you the purpose of God for your future. This word would be a chosen path of faith. As you respond to the word given and mix that word with faith, the power of God will go forth to perform it. God rules the universe with the power of His Word.

Rev. Steve and Melinda Scroggs

Rev. Steve and Melinda Scroggs

The Word of the Lord will always encourage, comfort, and exhort you toward the glory of heaven, and the kingdom of God. On the other hand, the word of the enemy will always come to bring fear, doubt, and unbelief with the end-game being to steal, kill and destroy your present experience and pervert your future in God.

A SozoLife Weekend – Columbia, SC

A SOZOLIFE WEEKEND at COLUMBIA, SC

SozoLife4

I want to invite you to A SozoLife Weekend

March 20-21, 2015.

I have had people ask can one week-end really change your life?

Yes!

On a recent weekend an attendee told me. “My life will never be the same!”

Another man said, “I never knew that God loved me so much!”

Another lady said, “Wow, I am free and now I feel closer to God than I ever have. There was a lot of information and revelation, but the presence of God is real.”

A SozoLife Weekend at Hilton Head Island

A SozoLife Weekend at Hilton Head Island

SozoLife4

I want to invite you to A SozoLife Weekend at Hilton Head Island, SC March 7-9, 2015. I have had people ask can one week-end really change your life?

Yes!

A friend stopped by and told me His story, and now I want you to hear it.

“What do you do after you go to the altar and give your heart to Jesus? After I received Christ many years ago, I found myself without direction, and began to blow as a leaf in the wind. I did not know what to do. I asked many people during the years, “what do I do now?” They said, “Do you have a Bible?” “No.” “Then go get one.” So I went and got one, but did not understand what I read.

As a result, I had and kept a truckload of baggage. I did not know what to do with all of the garbage, so I began to be disillusioned with the churches I attended, because no one could tell me what to do with my sin, and how to change my life. As a result, I was caught between two worlds, between the bondages that were pleasurable, and I really enjoyed, and the life that I did not have any understanding of. Now, where were my friends? I didn’t have any.

“What do I do with this thing called Salvation?” I had concluded that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and the Savior of the world, but I was still chained, and in a prison. Here I am a so called christian, a brother in Christ, but I was feeling completely alone. No one put their arm around me and said, “Brother, here is what you do next, here is what God wants you to do.” And what do I do; with the urges to drink, go to strip bars, and  party with my old friends. I was in the “black bag” intelligence community and enjoyed the life-style of lies, missions, near death threats and life threatening experiences. A part of me wanted to die, but I didn’t want to commit suicide, a suicide mission however would have been welcomed. I wanted to die, but somehow I knew I wouldn’t because I had a call from God on my life.

After many years of breaking I moved to the mountains of western North Carolina and during the course of conversation with one of my oldest and dearest friends, I hear the word Sozo. The word was so silly sounding that it caught my attention. I said, “What is that?” And he said, “It is a process of how to deal with all of the baggage and garbage in your life, after you become a Christian.” In that moment, I knew I wanted to know more about it. And in that moment, I was pissed off and said, “How long has that been around?!” I drew out the word long to exaggerate my sense of frustration. I am sixty-one and have lived a life of pain, suffering, fear, anxiety, disappointment, and failure. It was like living hell on earth, because I had no idea about what to do next. I had been living in the misery of darkness and confusion, been through four wives, and have three sons that I haven’t seen in over twenty years. Because I did not know how to deal with all the garbage or how to live in my new life. There was no practical guide book.

This is the conclusion I had come to. I came to the altar of I AM SORRY, AND I DON’T WANT TO GO TO HELL, and got a fire escape, but I had no idea how to walk with God. Experientially, he still seemed as far away from me as he was before I made the decision to receive Christ. He was in heaven and I was here. I knew the Devil was real, but somehow I did not have the same assurance of God being real. As the days went by, my baggage was still there. I still had all of the problems that I had before I went to the altar of I AM SORRY… except it was worse now. I was confused with the life I was living, because I was suppose to have the answers now, but I did not have any answers. I needed someone to take me aside and say, “I am in the business of spiritual garbage recycling. Let me show you how to get rid of this crap and turn it into fertilizer.” I had a desire to walk with God, but I did not have the experience of knowing how, until SozoLife. Then I realized that I had always felt like an illegitimate son. I even had a voice that came to me and said, “God hates you and that is why your life went the way it did. He wanted you to be in pain.” But the Lord used the process of SozoLife to open me to the Lord’s eternal Love, give me a way to resolve past conflicts, and show me how to walk with God. Now, I know how to hear God, I am dealing with all of the garbage in my heart and life, and I am free. Now I know what to do after you give your heart to Jesus. God is not finished with me yet, but I have more hope than I can ever remember.

If you find yourself anywhere in this story, or you know someone who is, the process of SOZOLIFE will give you a life worth living, and show you how to deal with the refuse, the baggage and the garbage that we all face. This weekend will be a weekend to remember. Life is not measured only by moments that pass on the sundial. Life is measured by the moments that mark our heart for God. You can map your life with these memories.

A SOZOLIFE WEEKEND is planned to give you a new GOD WORLD VIEW, give you the tools to fight the good fight of faith, resolve the unresolved conflicts in your soul, and teach you how to walk with God and bring healing to others. YES, this weekend can change your life. There is no charge for the weekend, but a offering will be taken.

Choosing to see truth, believe from the heart, and open your understanding to the love and the presence of the Spirit of truth, will totally change your life. This event will give you God’s perspective and Holy Spirit empowerment.

I want to invite you to attend and learn. This weekend we will have a Friday evening Worship and Teaching Session; SOZOLIFE: FOUNDATIONS I – Opening God’s Love from the heart of the Father. The Coming Civil War in the Church

THE COMING CIVIL WAR IN THE CHURCH

tree of life hand and worldI love the smell of fresh apple blossoms in the crisp mountain air. Today, some friends and I are driving from Asheville, NC to Statesville, NC. This is my weekly trip to visit my mentor and prophet to the nations. When we arrived, Bob and Viola shared their love, revelation, and whatever sweet snack survived on the coffee table. I began, “Bob, I appreciate your faithfulness in discharging your gift and calling with us, and in our church. I am so thankful for the treasure of wisdom and knowledge God has given you to impart.” He responds, “Well, that is the least thing I do.” My brow furrowed,
