Take A New Look!

Take a new Look! You will believe!

Today… think good thoughts about yourself.

The swirl of negative and limiting beliefs that play in your head and heart will suck you under the sea of doubt fear and unbelief – IF YOU LET IT! As you know, the thoughts…”I am not good enough. I am not smart enough. I am not good looking enough! I am not confident enough. I don’t have any resources. I cannot help anyone because I have nothing they want to hear!” will tear your confidence down and hold your soul captive.

Have you ever heard or felt anything like this? I have. These thoughts have come up inside me again and again, and I take each thought captive. Take every thought captive, not only your own but also the thoughts your friends or enemies send you!

So take a new look!!! The new look must come from within!

To begin this process, have a conversation with your unconscious mind. Say this, “I give my unconscious mind permission to change. I give my unconscious permission to be aware of new beliefs replacing old thoughts consciously. I receive truth as a person and not just a principle.

As you begin to focus on your future, take time to speak life to your entire being. ‘Unconscious…I tell you to receive God’s eternal Word as truth. I want you unconscious to receive the eternal holy light as truth. My unconscious mind, grab onto God’s Word and the Spirit of Truth and pull it to my core. Now I agree with my Father. I am made in His image and He chose me before he created anything. He is my source and I live in His dream! I walk in His wisdom and I continually live in His promises.

As I believe I receive! I choose to believe my Father loves to provide for my needs and my desires.'”

My limited belief system has held me captive too long. I now remember, my mental focus will determine my ability to set and achieve the goals I aspire to.

When you hear, “I am not good enough, and I am not good looking enough! ”

You replace the lie in a declaration, “I take these thoughts captive now in Jesus Name. I break an agreement with the lie that says “I am not good enough, and I am not good looking enough.” and I now agree with the truth, “I am chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world! (Ephesians 1:4).

I declare to my unconscious, receive the truth that my eternal Father set my value before he sent me here. He knitted me together in my mother’s womb! (Psalms 139:13-14 NLT) No opinion on earth can establish my value.

The Word of God’s Truth: “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” (Psalms 139:13-14 NLT)

My eternal Father says, “I have chosen you and wove you together in your mother’s womb. You are not the bloodline you were born into, yet I inserted you into this family, this place, and this time for a purpose! (Acts 17:16-18) You are my child and you look like me!”

When you hear, “I am not smart enough, and I am not confident enough!”

You replace the lie in a declaration, “I take these thoughts captive and bind them into oblivion in Jesus name! I break an agreement with the lie that says “I am not smart enough, and I am not confident enough!” and now I agree with the truth, “I have the wisdom of God because I asked the Father for it! My Father made me like Him and that includes wisdom. (1 Corinthians 1:30 NLT)

I speak to my unconscious, receive the truth that my eternal Father imparted His wisdom to me, and I have the certainty that I will always use His wisdom. I am confident because he made me like him. I am confident because no one can do what I do. I am the only one who can be me. My purpose can only be fulfilled by me.

The Word of God’s Truth: “I (Jesus) have revealed you (The Father) to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.” (John 17:26)

My eternal Father says, “I have made you smart, and confident. I made you like me. I want you to know that I am with you and that I will never leave you. Even though you may not always feel me, I am with you. Although you may not see me, I am with you. I will help you fulfill your purpose and destiny. Now, make your choice.”

When you hear, “I don’t have any resources. I cannot help anyone because I have nothing they want to hear!”

You replace the lie in a declaration, “I take these thoughts captive and bind their voice in Jesus name! I break an agreement with the lie that says “I don’t have any resources. I cannot help anyone because I have nothing they want to hear!” And I now agree with the truth, “I have all the resources I need inside me because my eternal Father gave me all the resources I need. My resources are only limited by my faith, and now I choose to release unlimited faith.

I tell my unconscious to live in unlimited faith and unlimited resources. I command my unconscious to receive the truth that my eternal Father releases my faith to succeed. When I speak others will listen. My words are important to give in the earth. “You have been called to live in freedom, my brothers, and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13).

The wisdom of God lives in me and I will take time with God to pull it out! I am first individually supported by my Father, then supported by others. I cannot wait for others to do or say what God wants me to do or say. When God (ELOHIM) made me like Him, He made me to thrive in a group that supports me. Yet, I will need others to help me accomplish the tasks God gives me to do because everything is more fun when I do it with a group. (Acts 2:42-46 NLT) No opinion on earth can snatch my words of truth.

The Word of God’s Truth: “Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up. We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.” (2 Corinthians 4:1-2 NLT)

My eternal Father says, “I have chosen you as my child to be my resource and my mouthpiece. Although others may not see truth like I give it to you, stand by my Word and I will lift you up! You are my child. When I was on earth they rejected me, and they will reject you. DO NOT FEAR. I AM WITH YOU!

I chose you before I made time and space, which means that you are eternally chosen and accepted. But others have a free will to either accept you and/or your words or they can choose to reject. What they believe does not establish anything for you. Their thoughts are just their thoughts, and thoughts come and go! Many on earth rejected my words, and I am God. Do not fear if others choose to throw your words aside. Believe me. The words I send will hit their mark even if you don’t see them fulfilled. Walk with me and I will strengthen you!”

God Touches Man

At the end of the day, I set my affection on heaven’s values and eternal perspectives. Today I choose eternal power, eternal love, and eternal glory, over the temporary desires of the flesh. I set my heart to glorify the kingdom of heaven!

Anything is possible for me because I BELIEVE!

I am having a day of inheritance, and I receive the eternal inheritance established for me!

I am made to walk with my eternal Father and bring heaven to earth…regardless of how others treat me!

I am living a God-filled day! I receive the light and revelation of God’s love!

So what is the NEW LOOK you need to take?

Proclaim what God says about you! God’s perspective and your perspective will first appear different.

May I Ask for Your Help?

Hey, may I ask for your help?

Bishop Naboth Ordination with the Team

I am blogging this request because we need your help.

Strengthen Naboth’s Mission trip December 2- 14, 2017.

First, I want you to know what we are doing for our Father’s kingdom! And, thank you for contributing to Save Naboth’s Mission in July. The mission to ordain Bishop Naboth and Alice Tumuhairwe and fulfill the requirements of the Ugandan government was an amazing success, hosting a delegation from President Yoweri Museveni’s office, and videoing the ordination ceremony for record purposes, thus bringing divine order to Bishop Naboth’s great mission.

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda

Second, I want you to understand the purpose of our Strengthen Naboth’s Mission. You and I have a divine command. Jesus said, “‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Third, I want you to have the opportunity for blessing by your prayers and gifts for Strengthen Naboth’s Mission trip December 2- 14, 2017.

The truth is, Melinda and I have loved you and sown in your life. And now, I need your help to fulfill the word of the Lord. Will you help us?

Support the Children

With the culmination and execution of Bishop Naboth’s Ordination in July and the Ordination of the 170 more Pastors in his ministry, I have a new burden and call to train leaders and feed the orphans. As this burden is an ongoing development for me and the I Am Network, Bishop Naboth has planned a Strengthen the Leadership Conference on December 4-9. This is a week-long training for the Leadership of some 290 churches from 8 African countries that relate to Bishop Naboth, and the structure to care for and educate over 700 orphans at the home base.

Now is the time for me and a team to go in the flesh, and you to go with us in your prayers and support. You reap the eternal rewards with us.

Ugandan officials want to see the development of Bishop Naboth’s ministry, orphanage, church network, and governmental participation. Our part is to impart the redemption, wisdom, and knowledge of God. On this trip, we will begin to make translated teaching video recordings that will be used to train the pastors and leaders in all of the regional city offices! So, I and a team are going December 2-14, 2017. Seventeen is the number of divine order and God is using us to establish His divine order in Uganda Missions – The Redeemed Church and Guma Na Yesu!

The Orphans Praise the Lord for You!

How can you help? (I am glad you asked..)

  1. I need your prayers before the throne. The multitude of souls that Naboth’s ministry brings in must be supported and expanded. He is an international harvester and he needs well-trained leaders! Please participate with me.
  2. Please consider going with us on a Leadership Training Mission.
  3. I need you to dig deep and give a donation. I know the Father has sent us, and you can receive the blessing of giving back. Please pray and give.

You may send your gift to:

The I Am Ministry

PO Box 341

Ridgecrest, NC 28770

Or you may donate with a card here:

As you know, we have had a long relationship with my “twin” brother Naboth. Since Naboth’s special request to me, and The I Am Network in 2007, we have supported Naboth and Alice, trained leadership, blessed and fed the orphans, ministered in conferences and crusades with literally hundreds of people coming to salvation, ordained over 370 pastors, with good fruit in the ministry… now the ministry has over 290 churches in eight African countries, over 700 orphans, and students of pastors in a government-sanctioned school for education.

This mission is good soil!

Tell Your Story

Tell Your Story

By Steve Scroggs

And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.[1]

The heavens and earth tell a story

The heavens and earth tell a story

Stories are powerful. They quickly engage people in non-threatening ways to open understanding, exam belief systems, and confront the prejudice that tops the human psyche. I experienced many heart and soul revisions because, through a story, I let my guard down. Tell your story.

It was late when the subway doors opened. A bewildered father with five loud adolescents took his seat next to the chrome stabilizer bar. With one hand on the pole, his head down and his shoulders slumped, he seemed detached from his boisterous children. He sat stunned as they disrupted the entire cabin. I tried to get his attention, a few times. I asked myself, how could a father be so thoughtless and insensitive? Continue Reading..

Sometimes it is just the stories. There are literally thousands of story books. I just finished one that will change your life. I titled it JUST THE STORIES. God has a story book about you, that records every event in your life told from his point of view. He is the best writer and the the most accurate, for he only sees the truth.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.…[1]

Melinda when I met her. 1975

Melinda when I met her. 1975

My wife and I are days from our wedding anniversary. I married the woman of my dreams. I am different because she chose to love me. However, this state of mind was not always my address. My address was a delusion, “I design my own destiny, determine my own fate, and choose my own future.” And my life exemplified the characteristics of my belief system. Working hard. Focusing my attention toward success. Desiring to be rich. And feeling the muscles tighten up the back of my neck and toward the temples. When you are the source, stress becomes a daily friend, with reoccurring headaches as brothers.

Now, I have peace and I want you to have the same. I just released a new book JUST THE STORIES, and it can help you find that place of LOVE and PEACE.

In my youth, my eternal Father knew I was missing something, but I was in the dark. He continued to reach out to me on countless occasions, and surrounding me with demonstrations of love. I received numerous invitations to enter a personal relationship with him, but my focus on daily struggles emptied my reservoirs. Then he opened a door for me to unconditional love. The most important door in my life opened the day I met my girl.

The first time I saw her seems like yesterday. The leaves were falling and the cool winds were blowing when our family pulled up in the Independent Baptist Church of Red Bank driveway, beside the church parsonage, and next into the back parking lot. My family and several friends had come into town from North Carolina. We came into town to attend the Youth Harvest Celebration, complete with a hayride, pumpkin carving contest, refreshments with hot chocolate, and a special speaker.

I stepped out of my family’s 1976 blue Dodge van. I was the visitor, and at seventeen years old, I was looking for girls.

My brother Mike, who lived in Chattanooga because he was attending Tennessee Temple University, attended this church. He walked up behind me, “What do you think about her?” He pointed at the girl I was staring at. I don’t know how, but he saw our eyes meet.

I said, “She looks a little plump.” She was actually very slim, but donned layers of sweaters. Of course, I said this to throw my brother off the scent. What I could have said was, “She is beautiful and I am in love…”

Melinda and Steve in Hollywood, California

I didn’t believe in love at first sight, but that night made me a believer. I began to work out a plan to make a great first impression and secure her heart. As our eyes met so did our smiles. I knew. My heart was smitten.

I felt the rush of excitement and infatuation all the way to my toes. The creativity that hit me in my quest to win her attention and affection was simply unbelievable; ideas for the team pumpkin carving contest, the way to get her attention while riding on the hayride, and the strategy to get her undivided attention in the last event of the night.

The walking beauty with bright blue eyes was on an opposing team during the pumpkin-carving contest. My team won. Yeah! Our eyes met again, and she knew I did it for her.

Next, the entire youth group climbed into the back of a box-truck filled with hay. She was sitting with the guy she came with, a friend who was too old for her. She was fifteen and he was a friend of my older brothers, a rough twenty-something year old in the middle of the 1970’s. She was being a polite friend. So I thought to myself, “I will start a hay fight in the middle of the truck, and he (her date) and my brothers will jump in and finish it. This will then give me an opportunity to meet her, and sit next to her.”  I threw hay at my brothers, then at him, and a fully-fledged hay fight erupted. It was fun for them, and totally sensational for me, my plan worked. I sat down next to her and introduced myself, “Hi, my name is Steve, What’s yours?” She said, “Melinda Troxel.” And she said it so fast that I couldn’t understand her. So I said, “I’m sorry, what’s that again?” She said, “Melinda Troxel.” Again, so fast I missed it. Then I said, “I am sorry; could you slow that down a little for me, please?” Then, I heard the sweetest voice I ever heard. “Melinda Troxel.” Ahhhhh! I caught the prize.

NEW BOOK! Order yours now!!!

When we returned from the hayride, we stood in line to grab some snacks and hot chocolate, and then sat down to hear the speaker. But, before the meeting started, I noticed her standing in the front and surrounded with mostly guys.

She then came back to me and said, “Do you want to come up here and sit with us?” I felt a conflict inside me, I wanted to be with her, but I didn’t want to be just another guy in her crowd. So I said, “No. But if you want, you can sit here with me.” She said, “Ok.” I don’t remember a single thing that speaker talked about. I am sure it was good, but I had her beside me. All I remember was the sense of love and affection.

Something happened inside me and I felt it. I took her home that night, and the rush of love and affection although overwhelming did not end. I can still smell the strawberry lip-gloss she wore. I was taken and she owned my heart. You will enjoy the fresh look at Just the Stories.

Now it is more than 35 years later, and we have enjoyed a lifetime of fun, family, and the kingdom of God. I have a lifetime of memories that speak to me about God’s unconditional love. My delusion, “I design my own destiny, determine my own fate, and choose my own future.” is not as rewarding or fulfilling as loving God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loving your neighbor as yourself. The creation is all about love.

God is always speaking through the circumstances of your life, but the interpretation of these circumstances must be guided into truth. When you receive these life changing lessons and revelations of wisdom, write them down. There are many people who will be lifted to a new level in life when you share your story. When I met my girl, I experienced another facet of God’s love in the story of my own life.

This story was taken from my new book, Just the Stories.

The Soul in SozoLife

The Soul in SozoLife

Eternity Holds the World

He Holds the World

The soul in SozoLife is healed and restored to wholeness. This is required for an ongoing relationship with the eternal God. To walk in your created purpose you will need God to Save (SOZO) you. God original purpose for you is written in Genesis 1:26. “And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion… over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”[1]

SozoLife Knocks!

I heard a knock. The church was silent on Mondays. When I opened the door, she stood trembling. She said, “Hi… I heard you cast out demons here. Is that true? I have been visited almost every night for years now. When they first came they were friendly and would take me places in the spirit. Then they wanted me to do things for them. Lately, they have been telling me to do things that I do not want to do. When I say no, they hurt me and threaten me and my family. Can you help me?”

I had not seen this level of brokenness before. She was tormented with thoughts of depression and suicide. She had been broken so many times that she thought she was a piece of dirt with the value of a grain of sand. The enemy used the people she cared about to pulverize her. Although her response was instinctual, she chose unforgiveness and opened a doorway to the demonic realm.

Torment in America

Sad Teenage GirlHer story was unbelievable. As we talked, she recounted story after story. Experiences of childhood violence, exploitation, neglect, and cruelty. The stories starred her father and mother as villains of violent abuse, and co-stared other distant family members as protagonists.  Then later, her mother’s boyfriend enters the cast hurling insults with foul-language, physical beatings, and sexual violence to pleasure himself. He heart was crushed over and over again, she turned to some of her “imaginary friends,” unclean spirits to “help” her. As the relationships grew, the demons began to come at night when she was asleep and take her places.

Since her life was filled with abuse, she invested her life in anger, resentment, bitter envy, and selfish ambition with a quest to validate herself through meticulous accountability. (This kind of life is shown in the Harry Potter stories.) As a result, she sought out occult ritual, spells, and curses for protection, and a witch’s coven became a much needed alliance. But, what she did not see coming was the torment of demon possessed people. Regardless of what you believe, a demon will always steal, kill, and destroy whatever it touches. This is the objective and the enchantment.

As I listened to her, my heart broke. As a baby, her grandmother inducted her into the Cherokee Shaman witch doctor rites. Through her young adult years, her relationships continued a pattern of abuse as she moved from one traumatic experience to another. The depth of her obsession reached critical mass when she was committed to a psychiatric treatment facility. On one such occasion, she was sexually abused by a Catholic priest.

Her strategy was to protect herself through whatever means necessary, until she realized that it didn’t work. She came because there were more powerful unseen forces at work.

light and bibleSilver Lining

There was a silver lining. As a young girl, she attended a Vacation Bible School, and received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, but at home the abuse did not stop. Even as a child she remembered crying out to God for help, and he would touch her with his love and light. God saves a soul through faith, not through a life of perfect choices.

Although she believed God, she was still holding unforgiveness and bitterness toward those who abused her. When she came, her life and mental state was shattered.

A Gift

Yet, somewhere in the midst of all the brokenness she received a “natural” gift for healing. When she laid hands on someone, she could sense the sickness and extract it from their body through her arms. Then within the span of an hour, she belched and released the sickness. (This was in 1992, years before The Green Mile.) I saw her use this gift. It was this gift that charmed the Witches’ Covens. When she attended the Coven, people were healed, and it looked like the witches had ceremonial healing powers.

As we began to minister she was set free. Through a number of sessions, she completely gave her heart and soul to God. Jesus saved (Sozoed), delivered, healed and made her whole.  Through a relationship with Holy Spirit, she began to walk in the authority that the cross of Jesus Christ provided. But there was a process of transformation.

Every Good Gift

key-light-spiritWhen I heard her story and saw the gift of healing, I sought God with a question, “Lord God, is this gift from you, and the subsequent healing from you?” One morning he gave me this scripture:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”[2]

The understanding that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father, began to open new understanding. It does not matter where I receive a good and perfect gift; at home, at work, at church, at play, or even at a non-religious gathering. Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights. When someone receives healing, deliverance, provision, or any good gift, it came down heaven. John the Baptist agrees with this as well.

John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.”[3]

The mystery that God expresses in scripture inspires the soul to believe, and what you choose to believe rules you. The scripture is clear.  The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. But, Witches want people to believe they have great healing power. This is one way evidence can be manipulated to lie. If demons can heal why not go to them? Demons do not create life, give healing, or bring the peace of God. I have not found one place a demon ever creates. God alone creates life, health, and healing.

A New Perspective

It had been months since her deliverance when she showed up at my office extremely disturbed. She opened the Bible to Job 38:31-33, put her finger on the page and said, “Why is God using the Zodiac?”

After I collected my thoughts, I realized her world view was upside down. I said, “God is not using the Zodiac. He created the signs in the heavens that you call the Zodiac. Everyone who uses the constellations as the Zodiac is using the signs He created to focus their faith for a personal advantage. ‘All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made.’[4] He is the source of all things.'”

SozoLife Opens the Soul

As God began to open the eyes of her soul, she saw a dark fog-like cloud surrounding her, with little static lightning bolts sporadically illuminating. She had lost her identity in her childhood, and began to believe that she was the sum of her dark secrets. She was visited by a demon and told that he would protect her. The demon lied, because that is what they do. But, since she wanted help, she agreed; but over the years her identity was eclipsed by this ominous cloud of depression.

After this was revealed I said, “This is good news.”

She said, “Good news? This is not good news, it’s a demon. What do you mean its good news?”

I responded, “Well, all that you have been experiencing, and all of the symptoms you have recounted are the energies and characteristics of this dark cloud. This means that it is not you! All of the thoughts of suicide and torment are not your thoughts. It is the demon that is manifesting as this ominous cloud.” Then I said, “Do you want to keep this demon and his assaults?”

She said, “No! Are you kidding?”

I reacted with a small chuckle, “I have to ask that question so that your will can engage.” As I began to reveal the authority that Christ had established for her, she was filled with a righteous anger for the years this demon had stolen from her.

God led her as a gentle lamb to His cross, and then walked with her to complete freedom. Today, she lives saved, delivered, healed, and whole. Only Jesus heals the body soul and spirit.

[1] Genesis 1:26

[2] James 1:17

[3] John 3:27

[4] John 1:4

There was a knock at the door. Our residence, an upstairs apartment and home of the Pastor, his wife and family, just up from the church was well known. The day after the weekend services was usually a day off. And then another knock. My wife answered the door.

Melinda and a woman in needA beautiful lady, fixed up in the tradition of Barbie, began the conversation, “I have all the money I want. I have a good husband and all the things that money can buy. But I don’t have peace. I want what you have.” The 2000 red corvette convertible she drove was sitting in the parking lot. But she was standing alone at our front door.

“What do you mean?” My wife responded. Then she replied, “I would give all the money I have to get what you have.” My wife responded, “You can have what I have, all you have to do is give your life to God, and live your life for love.” She came in and talked for about an hour, and then, she did what most people do in the heat of the moment. She walked away. The cost of peace was a prosperous soul that comes through a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ. Your soul is the immortal treasure your Heavenly Father pursues.

Prosperity Flows from God

What is prosperity? On earth, the crosshairs focus on fortune, treasure, affluence, abundance, and success. However, to make the hometown of prosperity material abundance and the opulent lifestyles of the rich and famous, make it alien to ninety-five percent of the people who live here. Wouldn’t you agree, it’s hard to live a life of prosperity when it is defined from a worldly point of view? The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines prosperity as, “a: marked by success or economic well-being. b: enjoying vigorous and healthy growth: flourishing.” On the other hand, if prosperity is defined by your eternal Father and the river of life that flows from his throne into your immortal soul, then it is available to every one. In other words, when you believe God, prosperity lifts you like an elevator from the basement to the penthouse.

key-light-spiritThe key to prosperity in your world is inescapably bound to the wealth of your soul. Fortune in the soul has a currency and an exchange rate that is very different from bank account balances. You may have heard, “…life is a negotiation and we are all selling something.” The prosperity of God is a matter of negotiating life or death in your soul. In the first century, the Apostle of love wrote a letter to his children,

Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

When your soul believes God and walks in the light,[2] your life will manifest the illumination of God.[3] When your soul drinks from the river of life that flows from his throne, your body receives divine health and spiritual wisdom.[4] When your soul accepts perfect love, you rise fearlessly in confident faith.[5]

If rational education and material things could satisfy the desires and needs of the human soul, there would be no displeasure, distress, discouragement, disillusionment, disappointment, disapproval, disenchantment, dissatisfaction, disgruntlement, discontentment, and disassociation that usually attains depression, despondency, and despair with suicide waiting in the wings. A mountain of dis-words can bring up piles of memories, but God made a way for your soul to prosper.

Approximately five hundred years before Jesus was born that first Christmas day, his forefather wrote this song and taught Israel to sing it before Almighty God.

Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.[6]

The natural man does not want to admit the need for anyone, and in particular the need for God. But the truth remains; your soul was made in God’s image, in his likeness, and donned with his authority. All you have to do is make the choice to walk in His counsel, stand in his ways, delight in the law of the Lord, and meditate in his law day and night, and then whatever you do will prosper.[7]

Therefore, the prosperity of your soul harmonizes with the paradigm of your value. For example, if you remember being treasured by your earthly father, you will know the pleasure of your eternal father as he rejoices over you.[8] My wife Melinda was the apple of her father’s eye. She has never had a time in her life when she questioned, “Daddy, do you really love me?” Or from a secret place in her heart asked, “Does my daddy really love me?” So her value was set in her father’s unconditional love, complete adoration, and unreserved acceptance. She knew from the bottom of her heart that she was her father’s greatest treasure. As a result, her soul is gracious, optimistic, polite, and wealthy. When you meet her you will want what brightens her life.

Like Melinda, the glorious thing about God’s love will shine in you when you choose to believe that your eternal Father loves, accepts, and adores you. The assessment of your worth, significance, and inspiration determines how prosperous your soul will be. In other words, “What you believe about you, and your Father’s love for you, will manifest.”

The Beloved

Once upon a time, dusk invaded the sunset as a brisk fall evening fell across the Israeli desert. Only the coals of his campfire remained when he began to praise Yeshua on his harp. In the third watch of the night, the youngest of eight brothers awoke to the growl of a hungry bear in pursuit of a meal. David follows the bear into the woods, grabs him by the jaw, rescues the lamb, kills the bear with his bare hands, and returns to the flock.

Samson & the LionAs he watched his father’s flock he skillfully played his harp, trained himself to proficiently wield his stone and sling, and commanded the respect of a multitude of shepherds in the land. When the shepherds and their flocks gathered, you heard the reverberation, “Who is this that plays? He plays with passion, excellence, and inspiration. Let’s worship and celebrate.” They heard him play and sing for the king of the universe. But, what every other shepherd could not see was the truth that resounded in David’s heart, “I am my father’s joy and expression. I know I am my father’s beloved. My father Jesse named me David – Beloved.” Even from his youth he focused his attention and affection on the most valuable commodity in the land, the love and honor of his Father.

One day, when an evil spirit tormented king Saul, the ruddy boy’s reputation preceded him into the king’s and his advisors sent for him. When the sweet Psalmist of Israel played, the evil spirit left Saul and his sanity returned.

This anointed young man communed privately and performed publicly with skill. David lived at the beckon call of the Lord of Hosts; and knowing the love they shared, David rose in confidence when the almost eleven-foot-tall giant stood to intimidate the nation. He said, don’t worry, I will go and fight him. King Saul’s immediate response was you are but a youth, and he a warrior from his youth. David’s answer caught the King by surprise.

Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.” And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.[9]

Then in confidence and power, David, armed with only a shepherd’s staff and sling, ran to the brook and gathered five smooth stones. In the anointing of God, he darted over the stream and faced a giant twice his size and three times his weight. After Goliath finished his best crack at a victorious speech, David proclaimed from the richness of his soul.

You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.[10]

That day, a young Jewish shepherd showed the entire nation that the battle belongs to the Lord. Israel celebrated the defeat of the intimidator with only a sling and stone.

David was at home in his own skin. He prospered from within and overcame without. The power of God flowed through him. The beloved knew his source when he sang and wrote,

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.[11]

David knew his place in the Father’s heart, and as a shepherd, understood firsthand the shepherd’s pursuit. His soul was restored in an environment of love and trust. He knew how to follow the Great Shepherd as he was being groomed to rule as Israel’s next king. He is still the most celebrated and the most beloved King in Israel’s history.

Prosperity has a Currency

papaSkyProsperity travels through the soul in currencies of light and dark energy. If your soul leans into the light, your prosperity will grow positive and your body will receive life. If your soul leans into darkness, your fortune will grow negative and your body will manifest depression, criticism, and sickness. Regardless of how much money you have, your body will reflect the focus of your soul’s choices.

When your heart is full of life, attentive to the Spirit, and focused on creative spirit, your prosperity flourishes. Your Father in heaven has never changed his mind about you. He says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love, and I will never leave you! Again, I will never leave you nor forsake you! I love you…I love you…I love you! I am with you…. This is eternal truth… Even in your darkest hour, I am right here.”[12]

You are the Father’s Treasure

While the Son of God was on earth he established the value of your soul. However, you have to believe Him in order to receive the full consideration.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?[13]

Humans determine worth by what someone is willing to give for a person, place, or thing. Think about it. If I told you, I am a very popular writer, that my books are best sellers, through which I make upwards of $1,000,000 a year, and that every publisher wants to buy my first draft scripts, how would you feel about me and what would you think I was worth?

It would be completely natural for you to feel respect, honor, and value for me. But, all of the money on earth, all of the real estate in the world, all of the precious metals under the mountains, and all of the priceless treasures in all of the king’s palaces combined cannot compare to the value of your soul. But, the only way to bring God’s value into your heart is through the process of faith. You must believe God loves you and pursue an individual relationship with Him.

You are the Father’s Likeness

There is a way for the human soul to access the manifest glory of God, and convert darkness to light, death to life, sickness to health, rejection to acceptance, and the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son. Although, eternal life continues when you die, you can have this power manifesting in and through your body right now, by faith! Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.[14]

When the soul enters into heart covenants, mental decisions, and subconscious resolutions of truth; steps must be taken to legally resolve, officially sever, and legitimately break the covenants, and choices made to accept God’s truth as the foundation for your life. To walk out of the soul’s maze, you must first be set on the life-giving power and expanse of God’s timeless word. His life is endless, His Word is creative, and His truth is freedom. However, you were not born with this perspective.

This journey sparkles when you have a personal relationship with God. A young lady sparkled when through prayer and confession joy filled her heart and her hope was renewed. Jesus said it this way,

Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.[15]

God gave a way in scripture to process the human soul, and he is the One who saves, heals, delivers, and makes you whole. You will grow and prosper as your soul prospers. Enter into a life with Jesus Christ because it is God that works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

On earth you will make many choices. You will choose to believe the truth or a lie. You will submit to His divine purpose, or offend God’s standard of righteousness.[16] You will evaluate everything and everyone based on God’s Spirit of truth, or you will judge everything and everyone according to your own personal sense of justice. You will choose either to make a vow to God or you will ascend to god-like status by pledging I am the determiner of my own destiny, I am the Captain of my fate.[17] These are a few of the many choices you will make, but the prosperity of your soul depends on loving God and loving His truth.[18] You will prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.

There is More to this Life than meets the Eye

Have you ever encountered God in a grocery store?

I was in a grocery store checkout line when my eyes caught the TIMELIFE magazine MYSTERIES OF THE UNKNOWN: inside the world of the strange and unexplained. “Psychic prophecies, ghost hauntings, and alien abductions. Are these eerie phenomena real, or a figment of the human imagination? The answers await in MYSTERIES OF THE UNKNOWN.”[1]

This 93-page magazine encapsulates a fierce controversy in the life and in the heart of every human being to live in this world. The questions that arise are numerous. You may have had some of these questions yourself: “Is there something beyond the physical realm, or is this all there is to life?” “Can the invisible realm that I cannot see effect me?” “Is there life after death?” “Is there a God that created the universe, loves me, and wants a personal relationship with me?” And, if there is all of this invisible stuff out there, what does that mean for me?” These questions and many more have literally haunted me for years. You know what I mean. Remember laying on your bed as a child and having the fears of a “monster” under your bed. The more I thought about it the more I felt fear coming on me. Armed with the determination to deal with such fear, I rigged a string from my bed to the light switch. I could turn the light on and off from my bed. Did that make the monster go awayContinue Reading..
